Family Ties is a contemporary family villa architecture project located on the outskirts of Moscow, conceived for a closely-knit family. From the very beginning, the design was guided by a strong and symbolic concept: unity through connection.

The inspiration came from the interlocking links of a necklace—individual elements that remain independent yet inseparably connected. This idea became the foundation of the architectural language and shaped both the structure and the detailing of the home.

A Composition of Intersecting Volumes

The villa is composed of a series of distinct architectural blocks that interlock and intersect with one another. Wherever these volumes meet, glass replaces solid material. These transparent joints emphasize connection rather than separation, allowing light to flow freely through the house and visually binding the spaces together.

As a result, architecture becomes a physical expression of family bonds. Each block serves a specific function, yet every space remains part of a unified whole.

Light as a Connecting Element

Glass plays a central role throughout the project. At every point of intersection, floor-to-ceiling glazing reveals the relationship between volumes while dissolving boundaries between interior and exterior. Natural light penetrates deep into the house, reinforcing the idea of continuity and shared space.

At the same time, the transparency creates visual rhythms that echo the necklace motif, transforming structural connections into moments of architectural expression.
