Mediterranean Interior Design in Prague

This project explores Mediterranean interior design in Prague, reimagining a private villa on the city’s outskirts through warmth, light, and material richness. From the outset, Prima Design approached the renovation as an emotional counterpoint to the Central European climate. As a result, the home was transformed into a personal retreat inspired by Southern atmospheres.

The client, a former professional hockey player, envisioned an interior that felt intimate, welcoming, and deeply expressive. For this reason, the design translates Mediterranean sensibility into a contemporary architectural language suited to Prague’s context.

A Mediterranean Interior Inspired by Italian Craftsmanship

Italian influence defines the soul of the project. In particular, warm earth tones, terracotta accents, and natural materials sourced in Italy establish a sun-kissed palette throughout the villa. Handcrafted surfaces and textured plasters soften the architecture. In addition, layered fabrics introduce a sense of tactile comfort.

Wood plays a unifying role across the interiors. Custom joinery and warm timber finishes create visual continuity between spaces. At the same time, woven elements reinforce the Mediterranean character. As a result, each room maintains its identity while contributing to a cohesive narrative rooted in craftsmanship.

Balancing Mediterranean Design and Prague’s Architectural Identity

While inspired by Southern traditions, the villa remains connected to its location. However, local colour traditions and proportions are subtly reinterpreted through an Italian lens. This approach allows Mediterranean interior design to coexist naturally with Prague’s architectural heritage.

Living areas and private rooms unfold through fluid transitions. Meanwhile, light becomes a design material, enhancing textures and reinforcing warmth. Consequently, the interior feels refined, balanced, and deeply personal.

Ultimately, the completed villa offers a distinctive interpretation of Mediterranean interior design in Prague. It is a home shaped by contrast, where Italian warmth meets Central European elegance.
