Villa Il Cupolino is a Tuscan villa interior design project in Florence. It rises above the surrounding hills and sits within a landscape shaped by centuries of architectural heritage. First recorded in 1467, the estate evolved through generations. Each period added layers of architecture, materials, and landscape design rooted in the cultural identity of Tuscany.
Today, the villa reads as a palimpsest of proportions, craftsmanship, and historic references. As a result, its character emerges through a constant dialogue between built form and landscape. Architecture responds naturally to topography, light, and long views toward Florence.
The restoration developed by Prima Design aimed to preserve the villa’s architectural essence. At the same time, it introduced contemporary elements that enhance comfort and functionality. Handcrafted stone portals, aged terracotta floors, patinated wood finishes, and classical geometries define the historic framework of the interiors.
Moreover, materials such as limestone, Bardiglio and Carrara marble, old cotto tiles, and artisanal plasters integrate seamlessly with modern furnishings. Sculptural lighting and curated artworks complete the composition. As a result, tradition and innovation coexist in a refined and balanced harmony.
The interiors maintain a strong sense of material continuity. In this way, textures, tones, and craftsmanship guide the spatial experience. Each room expresses its own identity while remaining part of a cohesive whole.
Outdoor spaces play a central role in the project. Pergolas supported by twisted columns, vine-covered ceilings, formal gardens, and panoramic terraces extend the living experience beyond the villa’s walls. Therefore, these elements frame sweeping views over the Tuscan countryside and toward the Duomo of Florence.
Moreover, outdoor living areas reinforce the connection between the house and its landscape. They create shaded retreats, gathering spaces, and contemplative moments. These spaces evolve naturally with the seasons and changing light.
Villa Il Cupolino is not simply restored. Instead, it is reimagined for contemporary life. The project honours its Renaissance past while offering a refined residential experience rooted in comfort, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.
Through this careful balance, heritage and transformation coexist. The villa ultimately embodies the enduring spirit of a Tuscan estate brought into the present.
